Varese

To continue the theme of happy half term, Damjan and I decided to have a sporty day. We drove down to Varese lake to go for a run together, before hiring bikes to cycle around. It was so beautiful. The lake is 27km around...I was glad it was flat! Have never cycled so far before, but it was awesome! I was really enjoying it...perhaps a bit too much...pride does come before a fall and all that.....we were about halfway around when I hit mud and started sliding, then flying.....and landed in the mud. Oh dear. The shame. But also the hilarity of it all! My bike was actually upside down....and my entire left side looked like I'd been playing rugby (thinking of this rugby analogy helped the embarrassment of falling off my bike haha) Fortunately I wasn't hurt....I really cannot break a bone until my health card is all sorted ;) Funnily enough no pics will be posted!

It's lush to have met so many other people who like hiking here and to be able to get outdoors so easily. The week before, I went to Varese to go hiking, though we went to the national park instead of the lake. Milan feels so small and compact, especially compared to SP, but I am still enjoying the easy access to leave the city and get my nature fix!
