Gaiman, Patagonia

Gaiman was a very interesting place. It was very quiet and we were the only tourists as it's low season. It really is so Welsh, and some of the buildings really reminded me of a mini Newtown. The architecture of the houses and churches were so Welsh and so many cafés or streets had Welsh names. I saw quite a few signs in shop windows for Welsh lessons and there were Welsh tea houses everywhere!

The street we stayed on

We had a nice walk around the town and then went through a tunnel as a great short cut....hmmm the tunnel of doom!!! It was so dark and scary! Thank goodness for torches on our phones. Never again!

It was a very sweet place. I really enjoyed it. Very quiet and peaceful but obviously very proud of it's Welsh roots.

It is the furthest from home I've ever been, yet was probably one of the places that felt most familiar.
