Our next stop was the bigger city in Patagonia, Puerto Madryn.
We met a guy watching football (what else?!) who had hired a car so we all went together to the peninsula. We stopped off at some beaches en route which were beautiful. They were deserted and we walked along for a little while before spotting whales. They were incredible. We couldn't believe how close they were to us. But oh dear, it was cold!!

Guanacoes! |
The next day we had a walk around the town. Walking along the promenade (attracting four dogs who we simply could not shake off!) we saw loads of Welsh memorials to the 26 people who had settled in the area. Patagonia was lovely. Really enjoyed it. I'd love to come back and do some hiking.
